How a visit works

From request to follow-up, in four steps

Nothing on this page is a booking confirmation. We read every request by hand so the appointment length matches the reason for the visit.

  1. You send a request

Tell us the care lane, the window that suits you and a sentence about the concern. Reception reads requests through the working day.

  2. We confirm in writing

You receive a reply with the clinician’s name, the appointment length, the fee and anything to prepare or stop beforehand.

  3. The consultation

Twenty minutes as standard, longer for reviews and physiotherapy. Bring a list if there is more than one thing you want covered.

  4. Notes and next steps

A written summary follows within two working days, including test arrangements, prescriptions and when to come back.

Who you will see

Three of the clinicians leading our lanes

Continuity matters more than convenience here. Where a lane has a lead clinician, you stay with them for the whole episode of care.

Before you come in

Practical notes worth reading once

Most appointments that overrun do so because something on this list was missing. Five minutes now saves a second visit.

Bring with you

  • A medicines list including anything bought over the counter, plus supplements.
  • Your priority — if you have three concerns, say which one matters most at the start.
  • Recent letters or results from any other clinic or hospital, even if you think we have them.
  • Readings you have taken at home, such as blood pressure or blood glucose, with dates.
  • A note of questions, written down. It is the single most useful thing patients do.

How we handle the rest

  • Fees are confirmed in writing with your appointment, before you attend. Nothing is added afterwards without discussing it with you first.
  • Records stay with the practice and are shared only with clinicians involved in your care, or where you ask us to send them on.
  • Changes to an appointment are free with a day’s notice; tell us as early as you can so the slot goes to someone waiting.
  • Chaperones are offered for any examination and can be requested in advance without giving a reason.
  • Accessibility — the ground-floor consulting rooms are step-free, and we can hold a longer slot if you need more time.

Questions

The eight we are asked most

If your question is not here, put it in the reason field when you request an appointment and reception will answer it in the confirmation.

Do I need to register before my first appointment?
No. Request an appointment first and we will send a short registration form with the confirmation. It asks for your date of birth, medical history and current medicines, and takes about five minutes to complete before you arrive.
Can I be seen without a referral?
Yes, for every lane on this page, including physiotherapy. A referral is only needed if you are coming for a specific procedure another clinician has already recommended, in which case forward their letter with your request.
Do you see children?
We see children from six months in the family medicine lane, accompanied by a parent or guardian. Vaccinations for children are given in the travel and vaccination clinic. Physiotherapy is for patients aged sixteen and over.
How do repeat prescriptions work?
Once a medicine is established, request the repeat in writing and it is prepared within two working days. We ask for a review appointment every six months for most long-term medicines, and annually for contraception.
When will I get test results?
Routine blood work is usually back within three working days and we write to you either way, including when everything is normal. If a result needs discussing, we offer an appointment rather than explaining it by message.
Can I bring an interpreter, or will you arrange one?
Either. We consult in English, Portuguese and Urdu directly, and can arrange a professional interpreter for other languages at no cost if you tell us the language when you request the appointment. Family members are welcome to attend as well.
Is the clinic accessible for wheelchairs and prams?
The entrance and all ground-floor consulting rooms are step-free, with a wide door and an accessible washroom. Physiotherapy is on the ground floor. Tell us in advance if you would like a longer appointment or help getting into the building.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Changing or cancelling is free with one working day’s notice. Later than that we ask for a contribution towards the slot, waived for illness and emergencies. Short-notice cancellations are offered to patients waiting for a same-week appointment.

Request an appointment

Tell us the lane and the window, and we will do the rest

A request is not a confirmed appointment. Reception replies in writing with the clinician’s name, the length of the appointment and the fee.

Reply time
Same working day for requests sent before 16:00.
Urgent concerns
Same-day triage slots are released each morning from 07:00 to registered patients.
Emergencies
This form is not monitored overnight. For anything that cannot wait, use your local emergency service rather than this page.
A sentence is enough. It decides how much time we set aside.
Interpreter, chaperone, step-free access, or a longer appointment.

Please do not include sensitive test results or images in this form. Bring them to the appointment instead.
